Funeral and Burial Services for Wife of E.D. Thurman to be Held Sunday
Mrs. Minerva Idell Thurman, 65 years of age, wife of E.D. Thurman, well known real estate
operator, died at her home, 1501 Jefferson street, yesterday afternoon at 1:25 o'clock,
following an illness of several weeks from heart complications.
Mrs. Thurman, was born on January 6, 1864, at Palma, and moved to Paducah with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. William Bougeno. In 1885 she was married to E.D. Thurman, to which union was born
three sons and three daughters: Jess Thurman, Dezzra Thurman, and Dillard Thurman, Mrs. Russell
Long, Mrs. S.P. Colthorp, and Miss Floss Thurman, all of Paducah. Also surviving Mrs. Thurman
are several grandchildren, James Everett Long, Dorthy Anne Colthorp, Stephen Colthorp, Jr., Will
Ed Colthorp and Phillis Thurman; one sister, Miss Shaffter, and two brothers, John and Henry
Bougeno, besides a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at the First Baptist church with
the Reverend D.B. Clapp officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
The pallbearers will be, active: S.T. Howard, O.R. Kidd, Luther Carson, Levi Chilton, Charles
Gockel and Clarence Krug; honorary: Ed Bowers, Oscar Hank, Ed Hannan, D.H. Hughes, Charles
Whittemore and W.H. Blackburn.
